Streaming FROM Android TV's satellite tuner or direct screen cast from Android TV

by scrootieBalls

I need to stream live TV from my tuner to my home network (TV's, phones, etc) IS THIS POSSIBLE? No one ever talked about this online I've been looking for a while..... I'm a software developer and I am willing to write software in Java but I need some help.

Possibly a MECOOL KI or KIII Pro with an inbuilt DVB-S2 tuner in it. Then you run the CoreELEC OS on it and use the free Kodi / TvHeadend TV server software:

Looks like TvHeadend server software works with SatIP Tuners.

Kodi has Addons for various PVR Clients to view streams from such TV servers over a network.

I use Tvheadend for DVB-T home network TV viewing with various Kodi / CoreELEC devices around the house.

TvHeadend really does not need a powerful machine to run it on. You really can use any cheap device run a varient of Linux / LibreELEC / CoreELEC.

LibreELEC can even run from a USB3 stick on any Intel/AMD machine.

Sat>IP is the standard for transferring DVB-S2 streams over ethernet. It hasn't seen terribly wide adoption, though, and enthusiasm for this solution has fizzled rather quickly.

However, there are several clients for Android and Android TV (none very good, though).

I'm not aware of a single Sat>IP server for Android TV. I have a hunch that this isn't just due to lack of interest, there are several technical restrictions that make it at either highly impractical or downright impossible.

Dedicated Sat>IP servers can be found relatively inexpensive these days, though. Likely a more wise investment of your resources anyways.
