I extracted the Disney+ apk from my Shield TV but you need to be in The Netherlands and also have an NL mean of payment to prove you are from there. It's free until the 12 of November.

Well at least it installed on my MiBox - that's a plus ;-) ... starting it however is a whole different issue altogether. I can safely say that it doesn't work on the Xiaomi MiBox just yet. Too bad.
It is using Google Play Store's new App Bundle technology so sharing the normal APK won't help much. App bundle can configure an app according to hardware and software configuration and then generate an apk for that particular device.
So the configuration of a device located in Netherland will be defferent than a device located in US. Also the configaration of SHILED will be different than a Mi Box. So Play Store will generate different APK's in all those different situation.
how's it like so far? I still don't know if Disney+ is going to have a backlog of older movies, or if it's mostly for their new original content?
It doesn't open for me after installing, just right back to home screen (US, Nvdia Shield)

I was able to directly install it form the play store in the Netherlands. Did not have time to test it yet though.
@OP, is it working on your shield? I was able to make it work on my phone. On Shield, app opens, but all text is missing. Like, empty buttons, no text saying sign-in etc. And if I click them, I'm not able to login too.
The APK and all the other ones going around are not working on FireTV gen1.
Could you please try to export the bundle using Split Apks Installer?
