"Connected, no internet" on home WiFi that works, but works as expected from phone tether

by coolsheep769

Got a Philips Android TV about an hour ago, and I was on the brink of returning it because it wouldn't let me sign in or update the thing, but low and behold when I WiFi tethered from my phone, the internet suddenly worked and I was able to set it up.

Now, looking at a long term solution, I'm wondering what could possibly make it behave this way- I use a Google WiFi Mesh network that port forwards 22 for SSH, and 3000-something for RDP, but that's the only thing I've done to mess with it. I was running a PiHole for adblock, but I unplugged it trying to diagnose this issue and that's not it. Has anyone dealt with this? I've reset both the TV, and my WiFi multiple times now.

The TV might not be able to see 5Ghz, your phone AP is probably 2.4.

The AP that your TV is failing to connect to, what channel is it on? Try to change it to something completely diffrent.
