Strange Behaviour of my Android TV

by logg3

Hey there!

My MiBox S acting strange since i switched from a 40" TV to a 32" one, Both run 1080p @ 50Hz.

What happens is that on the 40" TV when i had the Highlight on the Rounded Channel Icons on the Left Side of the Main Screen (like the Netflix Icon, Spotify Icon etc) and clicked it, the "Submenu" was displayed directly below it (where i could choose move up/down etc). Now on the 32" TV this Submenu is on the bottom of the screen, which wouldnt be a problem, BUT i cannot see where i am currently. There is no Highlight on the hoovered option. I can hear the sound of switching through the submenu and so i know when im on the very left or very right side, but i cannot see an optical feedback like a highlight. Same is with the Channel Icons i mentioned above. All other Items and Icons work (like when im browsing throuh the content of netflix channel, spotify etc. But when i get to the very left side which is only the APP icon, i dont see any highlight anymore... Thats very uncomfortable since it makes navigating a guessing game.

Something similar just happend on the youtube app. I wasnt able to see the left side menu at all. It was just a grey bar. I rebooted the MiBox and Youtube just works fine again, but not the icons on the home screen.

Anybody have an idea what the problem could be ?

The second thing is that from one day to another i cannot just click things on the home screen, but instead always the context menu opens. No matter if i just click or hold down the button i always see the context menu and cannot fast activate what i want to open. This happens on the original remote and on a air mouse.

I really dont know whats going on.

Please help!

lol @ them downvote-kids to an serious question.

anyway. im grown up enough to leave you a solution if anybody once will google for this kind of problem, since there is a one click solution for all the above problems. and its cause by a feature of "Eset Smart TV Security". There is an option in the android accessibility settings which is called " Eset Smart TV Security Service". And you can toggle it on or off. For my understanding it was the toggle to activate or deactivate the whole service from outside the Eset GUI, but that was wrong. It enables a strange Rewrite of how Android Navigation works. And it looks like buggy as hell. If this thing is disabled, everything works normal.

Yeah... Dont worry, no problem.
