No 5.1 sound from Mi Box S to Marantz receivet

I used to play 5.1 sound from phone to Chromecast connected to my Marantz receiver (supports any kind of audio). I have now bought a Mi Box S TV and cannot get any 5.1 sound. The box is connected thru HDMI to the same old Chromecast input, so nothing has changed on Marantz. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

5.1 Sound using which Apps exactly ?

The reason I ask is Android TV specifically - requires you to be HDMI connected to a DD+ capable audio receiver to get 5.1 audio from DD+ Apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Otherwise expect 2.0 audio every time.

Android TV OS media player Dolby audio capabilities, to support older DD only audio equiptment is really pathetic. :(

The AMLogic equipped Mi Boxes / Jetstream & others, supposedly have a Dolby Audio licence that should be able to downmix 5.1 DD+ > 5.1 DD and output that. Sadly that does not work as expected.

Seems to be one of ATV's major limitations.

Google need to crackdown on such false, misleading Audio marketing for Android TV devices IMHO.
