Mi Box S - Can't cast youtube HDR

Hey everyone,

when watching Netflix my TV is showing HDR. But Youtube doesn't work. I watched all the 4K HDR Sample Videos but the TV won't recognise that it's HDR. I thought the Chromecast 4K built in should deliver HDR? Anyone has an idea? Thanks.

Edit: I tested it also with the AndroidTV Youtube app, since I have the statistics there. It isn't playing with the vp9.2 codec or in the 2020 color.

As far as I am aware, the official Android TV youtube app doesn't yet support HDR. However you can get features like HDR and auto frame rate with https://smartyoutubetv.github.io

The Chromecast built into TVs & settop boxes make use of the host’s CPU & other necessary components to do casting. If the host device can do HDR, no reason why the casting is not able to do HDR.
