Help, Wi-Fi drops at startup

by 7777777joe

Since I upgraded to Android 8.0 my Wi-Fi is often not connected when I startup my Sony TV. I'm fairy new to Android tv, so any suggestions?

I'm within range & have a good router.

SOLVED: under Settings / Network / Home Network / IP Controls: change to "simple IP control". It warns "this may consume more energy during standby" but it solved the problem.

I have a Mi Box 3 which had a range of issues including poor WiFi when it got upgraded to Android 8.

I finally found a solution in a program called Wakelock Revamp. I don't know if this will help. But you can look into it.

The program basically puts a wakelock on the items you select (yellow bar) and stops them from sleeping. Perhaps you can try selecting WiFi.

It might not due to the upgrade but due to interference when someone uses a more powerful Wifi system that encroaches into your Wifi channel.

Here is a possible solution you might want to try
