If the game had controller support i wouldn't see why not.
AFAIK you can't use a controller, same goes for my Moto Z game mod. It doesn't work.
It depends how much you want to play it.

It doesn't work in portrait mode, which is pretty disappointing, because i bought it for that reason.
Personally i've bought a ProMicro and worked well on my phone. For fun an giggles i tried it with COD, your advantage is laughable. Also it's pretty easy to spot who else using something like this.

I tried installing tha apk on my shield and all I get is a blank screen
I asked the devs of cod mobile to add nvidia controller support but they replied that it is up to Nvidia to do it and knowing these lazy fucks we wont get it.
Just read an article that activision hears the community loud and clear for controller support and they are working on it now and we may see it in the form of separate lobbies to level the playing field. So perhaps we will be able to play on shield TV once that has been added.
