Firestick or Mi Box S for streaming in 1080p?

I have one of those Android "TV Boxes" from Ali, and can't stand Prime and Netflix in such a shitty resolution anymore (especially because I pay for most expensive Netflix package). My TV is 1080p, not 4k, so don't know which one from these two is better for the long haul?

I live in Serbia, we have official Xiaomi store, but would probably buy either one of those from local online re-sellers, and price for both is similar. Apps I need are Netflix, Amazon Prime, Twitch, Chrome, and HBO Go, local version of HBO streaming app. Nvidia Shield is not an option, it's too expensive.

I'm not a fan of the Fire Stick. It always feels like it's trying to sell you Amazon content, rather than enable you to watch content across all your services.

Fire TV Stick 4K > Mi Box > regular Fire Stick

4K Stick AC MIMO WiFi is about the best you can get on any video streaming device.

Amazon Prime is directly installable. Dolby Audio support for DD+ Netflix and Prime Video streaming is far far better on FireTV devices if you have older DD only audio receivers.

I think the easyst is the mi box. I bought one for a family member. ( around 55 euro via alix) It works perfect with netflix and youtube and some iptv with iptv smart tv app. No expericienve with firestick. Does it use a standard android os? I guess its something custom no?

Thanks everyone, in the end I went with Mi Box, because I'll get Firestick for much lower price next time friend comes back from London. :)

I had a Fire Stick before, updated to the Mi Box. Couldn't be happier.

Have both, have some media on a computer. Firetv will not work when the internet is down. Mi Box works, I can still access my content server.

Prime video isn't officially supported in mi box . Prime video works only if you cast. Get the firestick 4k and run it on 1080p would be my advice.

it depends on your account preferences

firestick (amazon) has its own app store which is much different from mibox (google)

btw mibox hasn't prime support but chromecast has it
