Parental Control App For Android TV

by pravinvibhute

Google Family Links, is what I use on my mobile.

But the app does not work on TV. It do not install and say the device can not be supervised. Same is the case with Google Digital Wellbeing.

What are my other options?

There aren't but you should take the opportunity to send a request through the app, go to help -> send feedback, the more people request support for Android TV, the better...

See if your router has options to limit usage times per device.

Correct. Under the device preferences and the security settings you can find restricted profile option. It requires a pin code be set up and you can create an additional profile which will allow you to select the specific applications that are allowed to be used inside that profile only. This would be a great way to customize the environment and applications you allow your kids to use and it's really easy to switch back to the full adult profile using a PIN code. under the restricted profile the Google Play Store cannot be opened and other settings cannot be messed with. In fact the settings in general are a stripped-down customized version of the settings that only offer a few basic settings instead of all of them.

This would be a great way to customize the environment you want certain people to use while maintaining access to everything for those who know the PIN code. Pretty much the shields version of parental controls I guess.

Create an additional profile and restrict certain apps from displaying. That's what I did, until there are better family controls.
