I have an old shield Pro with a hard drive. Any chance I can transplant the hard drive to the new one? I haven't seen any teardowns.

The old sheild pro as bigger in size and therefore could fit a Hard drive. Pretty sure the older (2017) and this one (2019) are smaller and do not have space for any hard drive at all. Even when they did a refresh in 2017, the (Real) Pro was not changed at all.
It's only just been released.
Well, as far as I can tell, what they are calling the Sheild TV Pro, is essentially the Sheild TV of last gen, but with updated internals.
The "Pro" has 16GB of storage, which I presume is emmc.
So, if that's the case, then no. However, you could get a case for the drive and use it for external storage, but I doubt that serves the purpose you wanted to do this for.
