Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019

Just picked one up from BB. My first Shield TV, looking to use it exclusively to run a Plex Server. Low power consumption was a major draw over using a HTPC. Plex playback is just 2 devices (1080p), one local on the Shield TV itself (for the TV that its hooked up to) and one other TV that is at another location on a different internet connection (300mbps). It's gonna be on ethernet right into my router and using a Samsung T5 for adaptable storage. Anyone have any tips/experience with it for this purpose? Will it be powerful enough? I guess I'll try it out for myself tonight, but was just looking for any knowledge anyone may have had with this already.

Im interested in how you go. I would consider the pro if I could watch one 1080p stream locally and stream 1080p to another TV on my network at the same time. Thats what makes or breaks the feature for me as it would be a nice upgrade from my aging QNAP Nas which is my plex server.

I have a 2017 Shield TV that I use exclusively as a Plex Server.

According to Tautulli (Plex Statistics), I’ve had 3 local and 2 remote streams at the same time. 3 local were all direct plays (1x 4K to Apple TV, 2x 720p to laptops), and then 2 remote, one being a 1080p -> 720p transcode, and the other being a 720p direct play.

I haven’t had any complaints.

I will say the biggest issue that I come across with it is that sometimes the serve just stops at random, and the setting to enable it from inside the Plex app disappears. Rebooting the Shield seems to fix the issue; and it all works itself out. Not sure if it had to do with the fact that my files are on network storage or anything. I solved the issue however by enabling ABD over Network, so I can reboot the Shield via the command line from anywhere; works no problems.
