Hisense Android TV registration alert

by tofudisan

I recently bought a 65" Hisense Android TV from a certain electronics chain (think blue shirts and yellow tags). Today I went to register the TV on their website while on my lunch hour at work, and realized I didn't know the exact model number. Since the website has a chat feature I asked the rep to look up the model via the serial number. At this point I was told that the registration system on the portal is broken. So even though it says you've successfully registered your TV you actually have not, and will not be able to use your 1 year warranty if needed! The only way to successfully register Hisense TVs is by directly contacting Hisense via phone. The portal does not ask for the receipt, but you actually will need your receipt to register the TV (which makes sense when you think about it).

All-in-all I am not very confident in Hisense as a company, and now I'm even suspect on whether their Android TVs will receive timely updates.

You still have a warranty as long as you have your receipt you don't have to register necessarily it doesn't void your warranty if you don't

I don't register any products I buy because then they know the exact date of your purchase. If it's not registered and there is an issue after the warrantee is up, I can get "creative" with my receipt.
