DisneyPlus not available

by YYZDaddy

I have a Westinghouse Tu43gdx and I'm trying to install Disney Plus, but it doesn't show up in the store.

Any thoughts as to why? Shows up fine on my phone with the same Google account.

I'm in Canada and it's on my Shield Tv , my Galaxy S9 and my Wife's Pixel 3XL

Just kidding I see it now in the us app store

Disney is doing strange things with D+. It's showing as "not compatible" on my Nebula Capsule II even though their other apps like Movies Anywhere and Disney Now work fine on it. I'm hoping it's a temporary oversight.

I have it on my Sony Android

Lots of Android TV apps are certified only for specific TVs, and only available on that basis, usually based on security.

I have this same TV and it is absolutely garbage. Prime Video isn't available either. Casting constantly unavailable for whatever reason. Remote hardly works. Brand new Android TV and I just use everything through an Amazon Fire stick. What a waste of money.

Disney has decided to release it on almost all phones and tablets, and almost no Android TV boxes.

Most Sony, Samsung and LG smart TVs can install it. No others can.

It can be installed on the Shield, but there are limitation, and apparently it may be buggy. On the Shield it can't stream in 4K, and that's probably something that won't be fixed until they design and release a new Shield (next year possibly). Apparently it's a hardware limitation, not software.

I was able to install the app, older versions and the latest, through sideloading. The problem is that once it's installed, the GUI loads up but none of the shows play. When you hit play it just hangs on a blank screen and spinning circle. I've tried uninstalling and installing different versions, clearing cache, restarting the box, the internet. It seems like the processor on my box doesn't like the stream.
