Just seen this article which explains what’s happening to BBC Sport and News.
I saw a post where someone said to disable location in settings, this seems to have fixed it for me

My apps just reappeared early this evening, now to see if they stick around!

Yes! I'm also missing them. Nvidia have posted on their forum explaining it was caused by a change Google made which has now been reverted. That was 4 days ago! and I still can't access it. Would you mind posting on the forum too? This issue isn't getting the attention it deserves. Nvidia forum
