It's a Disney+ app issue, need to wait for them to fix the app. Shield doesn't even get Atmos when it should.

I'm having the same issue. I just got new speakers with a subwoofer and thought it was an issue with the receiver not playing the audio with the sub. I'm glad to hear at least I'm not going crazy trying to fix this.

How do you send the audio to the receiver? If you are not using hdmi arc then try using that. That fixed it sort of for me, although I still have some hickups in the sound but at least it stays on DD 5.1 audio.

It's not perfect, but casting the show instead of using their shitty Android TV app fixed most of my issues.
