Stable and working fine for me.
Android 9 is around the corner for the Mi Box S so it should improve a little more its strengths and reduce a little more its weaknesses...
Havent had a problem. Bought 2 last year and love them.
I ended up getting one (couldn't resist the $35 price at WalMart) that I will use to replace an old Roku 3 from 2013 in the living room. My 2015 Shield is still going strong in the theater/media room.
I hope this product is supported for quite a while longer.

I don't stream 4k, but I am mostly happy with my Mi Box now. Maybe have to restart once a month due to stuttering and playback issues.
Works well for me.
MiBox is fine for just streaming. If you wanna game too get the Shield
