I have an app from the play store called photo gallery and screensaver on my mi box s. Works great and you can choose Google photos, internal memory and more
I know i'm late to the party but wanted to note that this only DOESNT work on my android TV. I have an LG display/speaker thing and it works there and it also works on my older tv that has a physical chromecast.
If users don't show interest Google won't do anything either, everyone must open the Google Home app and go to help -> send feedback and explain to them how much we really need that functionality, it's the only way, the more the merrier.
We should repeat the same in the Google Photos app.
What settings options are available for screensaver (or related name) in the TV's settings?
What related apps (e.g. "Backdrop daydream", "Chromecast built-in") are installed? What versions? Does Google Play show those apps as coming from "Google LLC" or from Sony?
