Issue : my Mi box turns TV on automatically

by Jiipex

Hey everyone !

I wanted to be able to turn my TV (Sony KDL49WE750) by using my Google Home. In order to do so, I turned on the CEC option on my Android TV and it works : I can turn the TV ON and OFF with my voice.

However, since I did that, the TV turns itself on about one min after I turned it off, and I can't figure out why.

When CEC is off or the Android TV is off, the TV won't turn back on. However, turning it off while having the Mi Box on will make the TV turn back on after a few mins.

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

Thanks

Is it a Samsung?

Mine is and CEC is a like if hot steaming pile of shit on it.

Mibox, shield , neither would turn the TV off after one cycle.

Edit: missed the Sony part! Sorry!

My parents had an issue like this and we figured out that a certain combination of cec settings on both the tv and mi box made it better, but I cant remember exacly what that was. It also might depend on what cec options your tv allows you to turn on and individually.

my sony tv turns on in the middle ofthe night. you need to go into sony settings find the name for the CEC shit, its called something like BraviaSync or something equally as dumb and turn off the option to on / off the devices
