So the app thinks it's running on a phone?
It cannot be run like on mobile because the notification bar is not present. I used a mixed install on another TV Box running Android and as soon as I moved towards an Android TV ROM I had lots of issues with regular Android apps. You do not want to run a regular Android app because it will miss the upper menu or buttons if the app was designed for an Android mobile phone.
Curious why you would even want to do that. If it isn't a system app though, you should be able to just sideload the mobile version. In such a case I recommend turning off auto-update in the Play Store. Otherwise, the app will likely just update to the leanback version.
I've done a lot of crazy and hacky things on my Shield TV so I'm not one to judge but I'm just curious why you would want to do this? Explain yourself OP!
If you connect a mouse you can download the Sideload Launcher from the app store and then you can download the apk and install it and then you can open the app in the Sideload Launcher
Rotation app will help alot , and also if the app won t rotate just use a mouse and click if its a video app and the movie will load just fine in full screen 😃
If you mean you want the app to go full screen then install a rotation orientation app
