Unable to install apk in Xiaomi mi box s USA edition

I bought an Mibox s through walmart yesterday and tried to install a third party streaming app and but I cannot find a way to get them installed. When I go to security there is no check box to select install unknown apps. I also cannot find a default file manager in ATV and also cannot install any other explorer like es explorer. When I go to apkpure website through a browser and try to download the apk it says download not supported. Can somebody help me on this?

Install a file manager from Play store first, like X-plore. Then you'll see it under security -> unknown sources.

Forget es explorer it's considered Malware these days.

I put Aptoid TV on a USB key, installed from there and then installed X-Plore (from Aptoid) and some other apps from the Aptiod store.
