Usually you can just turn off the bulb how you'd normally turn off a non-smart bulb and the smart bulb should know to be turned on when it receives power. They should both work the same way. Like all my lamps still have their on/off switch that works fine. You shouldn't need to buy an Android device for the sole purpose of turning on a bulb. At this point you should have just bought into the Philips Hue ecosystem.
