mi box s pie has poping sound after turn off

by frozen2077

I use 3.5mm audio jack to connect with my speaker and after yesterday's pie update every time I turn off the box there are some poping sound come out of the speaker around per once in 15s. It's loud and noisy so I have to turn the speaker off every time. I am sure it has something to do with the update, but how to fix it?

I am sure this has to do nothing with the update, what you are hearing ist interference from the 3.5 mm plug.

I confirm I also started getting this issue after the update. Also using 3.5mm jack directly to speakers from MiBox and when it's in stand by mode it starts sending the popping sound to the speakers.

However, it doesn't do it immediately. Last night it started 2-3 hours after the box went into stand-by.

Hope there is a solution to this other than turning off the speakers.

Brrrr.. I was able to finally get rid of this annoying noize by turning on "Processor" feature in wakelock rewamp. It's not available in Google play for MiBox however (because it's not marked as compatible), so you'll need to

  1. install sideload launcher from play store (necessary to be able to see non-compatible apps)
  2. download wakelock rewamp apk from web and install it on your mibox
  3. open it and tick the processor option

Bonus for you guys: I remember trying to use this wakelock to keep MiBox available for Chromecast when it's turned off and it didn't work for me on Oreo for some reason, but it appears to be working after upgrade to Pie: just also tick the "WiFi normal" option.

Hope that helps!

The same problem :/ Two months passed, did you fix it? Or any other solution? I tried to connect bluetooth transmiter, but my one is low quality so voice is delayed.

Same issue here. Connected to analog stereo speakers via 3.5mm jack, and I get a loud popping when mibox is in standby (timed it as repeating every 1m50s at one stage, but also heard it repeating every 10-15s).

I did notice this prior to update, but it was nowhere near as bad, and I was able to turn down the volume on the speakers to a point where it didn’t bother me too much. Luckily my monitor also has a 3.5mm out jack, so connected speakers to that instead to solve.
