USB Mouse Problem With Mi Box S 4K

Recently bought the Android Box, but it doesn't seem to be working properly with an usb mouse. While built-in settings section and YouTube work properly, other apps like Netflix -even Google Play- isn't working very well with the mouse. Can't search anything in Google Play because nothing happens when I click the search button. Netflix is the worst, can't do anything with the mouse.

I think the reason is related to these apps are designed only for TV and the TV remote, but wondered if others have experienced the same issues. Is there any workaround for this, or should I just install the standard versions of these apps?

Mouse is not working properly, a known problem. A gaming mouse with the side buttons the back button works but clicking in a search box does not raise the default onscreen keyboard and clicking on the onscreen keyboard does not work.

You can try to install another keyboard app from androidtv playstore such as Thai keyboard (english language) or leanback keyboard. Set the default keyboard to your new keyboard. Now clicking in a search box raises the new keyboard and with a mouse and you can type on it. Back still does not work on a normal mouse but a gaming mouse with side buttons works.

Try a usb dongle keyboard/mouse, this works for all scenarios.

On Android 9

The normal on screen keyboard cannot work at the same time with a USB mouse or USB dongle keyboard plugged in. Generic bluetooth remote also does not work and an airmouse also does not work.

If you install one of the keyboard apps from playstore, set the device to that keyboard then the mouse works for clicking on screen and back button also works.
