The Chromecast issue is easy enough to fix. The 2 issues I ran into were:
Other than that I didn't see any issues. I was still in my return period so I exchanged it for one with 8.1 and won't upgrade again anytime soon. Technically it was defective since I couldn't use the keyboard to sign in, connect to WiFi, etc.

I have two mibox S at home. We don't use them for anything fancy, only chromecast and using the youtube/netflix/crunchiroll apps directly. After updating to 9 them and cleaning app the "Chromecast Builtin" app data. Things seem to be working ok. I don't really have more problems that I didn't already have before (e.g sometimes I need to turn off the mi box S and turn it back on so that it can be used in chromecast mode, but this always happened to me, also with normal chromecasts)
Other people seem to have had problems with stability.
I guess the real question is , do you NEED to upgrade? After upgrading I am not sure if I gained anything. The config menu is a bit more organized, but that's about all that I've noticed
Don't upgrade. There are all sorts of problems with it. I think I read in another thread that you can't even downgrade back to 8.1 either
Plex is broken. Don’t update.
All my apps working perfectly ,and Chromecast issue is easy to fix, go to Google Play store - My app - Chromecast built in - Uninstall ,use old version . DONE
ABOUT Airplay i used Happycast or AirPin(PRO) v5.0.2, all working great
try all your app update to newest version .thats it

Don’t mine no longer lets me select my custom launcher that i was able to in android 8. It also locks up more than 8 did. I regret updating i want to go back to android 8.

Stay away.
I made a mistake of updating it. Now all sorts of things happen. Apps crashing all the time (Especially Youtube). System keeps freezing.. Color profile not showing correctly. Loud popping sound from speaker when idle.
8.1.0 was dead stable for me. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
