Enable hidden apps

by lukyluke112

Hi everyone, I have a Phillips Android tv tv. I can see BBC iPlayer in the installed apps(Android settings) but cannot see it in my app list(home screen). The reason for this is because my region is outside of the UK because I live outside the UK. I was wondering if someone knew how to bypass the "region hidden app thing" and show the apps outside of the uk.

Even if you can launch it, the BBC is pretty good at making sure you don't view their content unless your IP address is located in the UK. I wouldn't expect this to work without a VPN.

Oh yeh if you can see it in the settings can t you open it from there? Then try and see if it works with vpn or not , coz its its not on your home screen but in the settings then should be able to open it and if it works then install the sideload launcher someone mentioned bfr so you can access it from the home screen 🙂 image

sideload launcher is an add-on launcher that lets you launch any apps which aren't android TV compatible. it should list that bbc app there. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.tv.sideloadlauncher&hl=en_US
