Generic remotes for AndroidTV?

by a1b3rt

I dont like the remote that came with my HiSense TV

it is unnecessarily big ...not sure why it has the digits 0 to 9. I have no use for channel up and down buttons etc.

is it possible to buy a smaller generic remote for android TV? ..closer in size to a Roku remote or Firetv remote?

i understand the original remote comes with google assistant microphone...though i don't use it much it would be good to have as well

Does the HiSense have a functional USB port? Someone recommended the MT1 remote for the MiBox S. Its an Android TV box rather than a stand alone TV, but it might work.

If you plan to use the TVs built in apps and features, then you already have the best remote for it. Sure it may have more buttons than you like, but I guarantee it is better than any aftermarket options. Otherwise get a shield or mi box as the external players will likely give you a better user experience.

Because it is a TV and has a TV tuner. It is much easier for me to punch in a number to get from 7.1 to 54.4 rather than clicking the down arrow 38 times when watching TV. That is my only real complaint about the "Live Channels" app...no direct number entry...and the Pluto TV app, too with their 230ish channels.

If the TV can do Bluetooth give a few of those remotes a try. Roku remotes won't work, but a FireTV remote may.

I have dozens of different remotes, but this one is by far my favorite, especially for less than $10 USD.
