muntitasking... Switching apps

by spywiz

In OREO you simply press the HOME button twice. The recent/running apps will appear at the bottom of the screen. Use LEFT and RIGHT arrow buttons to select the app. Then, press the HOME button twice and select the app you were on. I forgot to turn on my VPN. I was in the middle of a movie on KODI. I pressed the HOME button twice, selected my VPN, pressed the HOME button twice and selected my paused movie in KODI. Hope this helps all. Moderator please fix my spelling on heading. It wont let me edit title.

No. This is not a fact and it cannot be trusted to work on all Android TV devices that are running Oreo. Consider caveating what you post with specifics.

It's possible with Button Mapper, it's available on Android TV Play Store.

You can see the multitasking UI of all current running apps and set a button to double press to previous app.

Pair your phone with your device through Android TV Remote first as a backup. There is a possibility to change some buttons and later you can't navigate back.

Tested on Shield and Mi Box running 8.1 Since then I didn't test it.

Also why they down vote you? Maniacs.

FYI - that doesn't always work. Holding the home button until the app drawer opens is another way to quickly open another app without closing the one you currently have open, and it usually returns you to the previous app when you back out.
