Amazon fire TV remote is superior in all ways but one - it's voice search doesn't work on shield.
The button layout alone makes me question what they were smoking
$85 CAD after calculating the 40$+ in shipping smh
Why is this so much more reasonably priced compared to the previous remote?
Waiting for it to be available in the UK Amazon store.
aaaand it's out of stock...
When I swapped my HTPC with the 2017 Shield I kept the USB IR receiver that I was using with my Harmony remote... So I continue to use the Harmony remote over IR... Also copied over my keymap file from Kodi that I had on the HTPC to remap buttons and that works too.
I used it at first, then stopped and went back to my harmony remote. Just leave it sitting nearby so it can hear us when we do a voice search.
Is this always connected/awake? Because my only issue with my current 2017 model is the delay when I want to pause it, or the fact that I have to pick it up and shake it before I can adjust the volume.
can you reprogram that netflix button?
Ugh, this remote can die in a fire. it's the single worst part of my shield purchase. The netflix button is incredibly sensative and attempts to disable or repurpose it using third party programs end up hanging the system and affect other usability.
The Shield is amazing and I love it, this remote is atrocious.
The 2017 Shield TV remote is literately the worst designed piece of electronics I've ever used. Got so tired of it lagging and disconnecting I snapped it in half threw it away, should have done that a year ago. Been just using the Shield app on my phone and it's worked very well ever since.
Will buy this remote once it comes back in stock, since Nvidia did so little with the 2019 Pro that there is no reason to upgrade the box itself.
Thanks for the warning..?
It's a nice remote but the Netflix button is super annoying
