Why would it be dead just because it didn't receive an update? No one has heard of one yet, but that doesn't mean the box will stop working. Just don't do any "shady" things on the device and you should be fine for a while longer.

My boxes work fine without the update. Not sure why you think it's dead. I can still open all my apps I could before the 9.0 patch. It still boots up fine. Menu is still there.

Still using this box. Works properly, i even forget about any updates.

There is a senior's living center with over 400 MDZ-16-AB deployed using latest build of AndroidTV Oreo 8.0.

Not one issue reported.....
