Is this acceptable amount of bending/vertical bending/DSE for a good ($700) "55 new TV? It's direct led LCD from Hisense (Toshiba branded, made by Hisense). This isn't seen almost at all unless such grey/dark grey areas and during clean blue light sky like environment.

It's all about what you can live with and tolerate - in a perfect world, you'd have none - and obviously going with low end, you should expect more than higher price brackets
My old Samsung 40" 1080p has some bad DSE, but obviously you only notice it when the background is all grey and then when actually watching something, it's just for like 2 seconds you can notice it. I enjoyed plenty of movies and games on that TV, didn't stop me.
