Searchable Apps??

by hutnut69

Hey guys just recently joined the android tv family. I picked up a sonyx950 tv with Android built right in. So far very happy with the system and how smooth everything is. My issue comes when I try to use the Google Assistant voice search, it only shows results from Netflix or YouTube. I found a setting for "searchable Apps" but it is blank and there are no options at all. Anyone know why this is or a potential fix?? Thanks in advance

Here is a picture of what I get when I go to settings>device preferences>google>searchable apps

From what app do You expect some results that are not showing up?

I've had hit and miss luck with this. On mine I have Plex turned on as a searchable app and it seems to work for movies that I've added recently but that is about it. I see several apps on mine, but the functionality is so-so ...at least with Plex.

I'm curious how it indexes these apps. With Plex it looks like it only searches movies that I've actually played on the Shield, which isn't very helpful.

Same here, just found a fix. Go to system apps and unistall updates from Google App. Just done...and everything works now on the "searchable apps" page and other stuff (like Kodi)
For those of you interested...this also fixes the bug when you want to change tv channel by voice. Saying "channel 1" (or whatever) would only displaying youtube results...unistalling G. app updates will fix that too. Hope this helps :)
