Need to connect Android tv to stereo via chromecast

Okay, so let me try to explain. I just bought a Chromecast and attached it to my home stereo. Works great, Google home app sees it. I have a Android TV with Chromecast built in. I want to create a speaker group between the tv and the stereo, so as I'm watching TV the sound comes through the stereo. Google support says that this is not possible because the built in Chromecast is only a "partial chromecast" and won't see it as a speaker.

Anyway to get around this?

If you need it to be wireless, add a Bluetooth receiver to your stereo, the Android TV can connect to that as a speaker

Even if you had two Chromecasts, a speaker group wouldn't do what you want. Speaker groups only work for audio, not video sources.
