What is your problem with Kodi? Are 3rd party add-ons slow / lagging?
The CPU and GPU in S905X chipset in the Mi Boxes is 2015 era Tech, and these days is a bit slow if you are a demanding user.
The newer S905X2 chipsets in the Mecool KM3/KM9 and others is now noticeable faster:

The upcoming Tivo Stream 4K dongle also has a faster S905Y2 chipset in it.
The FireTV Stick 4K is also a faster Kodi device vs the S905X Mi Boxes and the Jetstream Ultra 4K.
Kodi on the FireTV Stick 4K also does auto Frame Rate Matching, you do not get that with the Mecool devices running Android Kodi.
However the Mecools can run CoreELEC Kodi from a external microSDHC - and that combo will be superior vs anything Android Kodi, inc. the FireTV Stick 4K:
Check the site androidpc.es they have benchmark tests of both boxes. The stick is much faster, not even close.
