Chromecast built-in

by blu3sh4rk

Hi all, I have two Android TV's (a Philips 7100 and a Mi TV 4X) with Chromecast built in. Unfortunately I read that Google Home doesn't support TV's with Chromcast built-in. Is there any wokraround or possibility that I can let my Google Home at least turn the TV on? Or does anyone know if this will be possible in future updates?

Bit of a shame that these high-end TV's don't support such a simple function.

That’s possible in Sony TV using Android TV and Chromecast built in, I have turn on/off TV function from my Home Mini

You must have read something wrong. Google home likely doesn't know if you have chromecast built-in or a regular chromecast. If it's not working it's probably because of the TV. Can you turn it OFF with Google home?

Try using Google assistant on the tv to add your account to Google Home

One of the tv's does get recognised and I can adjust the volume with the app when it's on. But I simply can't control it using voice commands.

the support page already clearly stated that it need to be a chromecast-connected tv

Hi, I am using OnePlus TV that has chromecast built-in and it takes commands with Google Home. I think I know why your are facing this. Please try this, Change your TVs name. Should be in settings<about of TV. Now give it a try.

If this works, i will share you the reason which I think is responsible.
