Android TV with Ethernet

by SickDSM

Wife keeps switching between YouTube TV and Hulu live. Have a variety of boxes and sticks. I am using a first gen fire TV in my shop because I need to plug into Ethernet. I was using a unofficial APK to play YouTube TV but that stopped working and the official app is not supported on the first gen. I have an Ematic Jetstream in the house I like but notice it's an older os. Is there something better or more current to use? Wouldn't mind something a little snappier but not wanting to spend Shield type of money.

Thanks.

Nvidia shield 2019 is $149 on Amazon. Just spend a few dollars now and save yourself the headaches.

Just get a Nvidia Shield, it's worth the cost 🙃🙂

Xiaomi Mi Box S with an ethernet cable. Came to 45USD for everything (on sale).

It's solid enough to run GeForce NOW and play the Witcher 3 without a problem.

Ematic Jetstream is running Android 8.1 which isn't that old. Android 9 or 10 don't have much new for TV. Maybe autofill password, but few apps support it, I've seen.

Still, had I known that it doesn't support HDMI-CEC volume control, I would have got another Nvidia Shield, even if used (MiBox doesn't either).

Update to the Fire TV stick 4k and get the Ethernet adapter.
