Which box to play files from usb drive?

Hello, I am looking for something to play .mkv/.mp4 files over and old LCD TV. I would use an external USB pen drive formatted in exFAT and KODI as player.

I have seen about Nvidia Shield TV Pro, but it seems out of stock everywhere. The basic version has not USB outputs. Which are the alternatives? Thanks.

I believe mi box s has USB inputs but I don't have personal experience with it.

If your router supports USB and SMB, you can connect your pen drive to it and use any tv box.

I play movies using a file manger. It supports usb but I have it connect to a network share (smb nas) instead. It works fine for this purpose. I use vlc to play.
