Youtube App on adroidtv outdated?

by Guldur

So, I own a Roku and Androidtv and I noticed my Roku version of the youtube app is much better, including a much used feature to change user accounts while android tv forces me to sign out and then sign in when changing.

Why is Android TV so far behind and is there any workaround for it?

No workaround and there's no way around it.

YouTube is a web wrapper on Android TV and it's much smoother than it was a couple of years back

You can add another google account on the main android tv home page without signing out

The native YouTube app on Android TV uses the user accounts that are maintained system-wide on the device, rather than maintaining the accounts in the app. The YouTube apps on Roku and Fire TV, plus Smart YouTube TV all support using YouTube accounts separate from the system profiles. Another reason to use Smart YouTube TV on Android TV.

Why is andriod tv so far behind??? It's google's philosophy

Google: Make a product/app..... almost immediately stop supporting said app/product..... introduce new produce.....repeat.
