Freeview Play still not on the play store in the UK (from a Sony Android TV), but I believe it's supposed to be released already. Is there any date when it will be generally available? Or is there a play store channel for beta releases?

It's only going to be on TV's that run Android TV. AFAIK, it's not coming to set top boxes, since Freeview Play still pulls its signal in from an antenna for live TV.
