Help, my Xiaomi Mi BOX S is getting a really great internet Speed in Speed Tests apps (200mbit download/upload) but the ping is really high (~38), and the Geforce Now app is having a really bad lag. Will buying a ethernet adapter is really going to fix it?
I have internet issues with gfn on my shield, which is connected via Ethernet to a range extender.
USB3 > Gigabit (1000M) Ethernet adapters like the popular Ugreen ones should be used if reliability, Ping times and streaming speeds are really important.
WiFi is a “convenience“ networking feature that simply has too many compromises.
I have a Mi Box 4 and had the same problem. WiFi chip is total junk, fine only for video streaming. I bought one gigabit Ethernet adapter, latency is low and connection is stable. GeForce Now is working much better - I don't get notifications of issues with network anymore. But input lag is still a thing for me, for the only game I play (V-Rally 4). Since it also happens on my PC, I think it is not Mi Box related.
