"Let others control your cast media" toggle in the Google Home app finally works

This toggle, which disables the cast notification that shows up on everyone's phones, has never worked for Android TV devices. Back when the Google Home app was the Chromecast app, the toggle only appeared for actual Chromecasts. Then during the transition to the Google Home app the toggle became visible for all cast devices, likely just an oversight by the app devs. If you pressed it you'd just get a communication error, it was clear the Chromecast built-in app wasn't coded to handle this toggle.

But now, the latest version of the Chromecast built-in app (the same one that added speaker group support) fixes this after all these years.

The timing of this makes me confident that the next Chromecast Ultra will use Android TV as the rumors suggest.

If it doesn't work for you, sign up for the Chromecast Built in Beta.

Far too late. I had to stop using my devices a while back because of this. Anyone on my shared wifi could control my tv. Insane.

Nice, I'm more intrigued by the 50hz hdmi mode? Not seen anything like that ?
