I love the HDMI based “one button off” feature that allows to sync the TV and my box. But I fear turning the box off each time I turn the TV off is a bit violent on my USB (hard) drive. Every time I do it clicks badly and Android TV tells me the drive was disconnected next time I turn it on.
Is there a way to cleanly unmount the drive automatically when i turn the box off?
It’s an Australian Vodafone TV (Technicolor AFAIK) if that helps.
That's odd, to say the least. Most Android TV devices go into sleep mode when they get a power off command over HDMI CEC, and that allows any connected drive to spin down gracefully. If yours is powering down completely, that sounds like a software bug.
