Youtube TV opens and freezes on Hisense H8F (android tV). Have to restart tV to get it to work

by idontcarethatmuch

This happens at least once or twice a week. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, force quit, and when it's acting up nothing will get it to work shot of restarting the tv itself. When it does this, YTTV launches, and the home is displayed but it will not take any inputs. I can go back home on the TV but that's about it...

Has anyone else figured out a fix for this? I'd rather not have to factory reset the TV if I can avoid that...

Bizzare how $1000+ devices (and double this price in India) are still selling with a shitty CPU/RAM/Storage combinations. How expensive can an extra 2 GB RAM and maybe 8-16 GB storage be?

I would advise you to buy an android tv box. buy nvidia sheild because it comes with powerful processor and higher ram. smart tv's have weak processors and memory issues.

If you notice: android tv apps’ processes don’t get terminated when you exit the app. They are kept in the background (running or not) unlike roku apps. Roku apps are terminated each time you exit the app. So basically android tv apps get stuck in the background and start freezing after awhile. Unless Google remake it so that android apps’ processes are terminated when you exit the app and after a period of time. I don’t think there is any fix for this
