HDMI disconnection problem (more in comment)

Hi everyone,

I bought a month ago a Sharp Aquos under Android 9.

Since the first day, I have many problems of quick disconnection over HDMI (the one you can see in the video).

Sometimes I'll be fine for 20 minutes before the problem comes back sometimes I'll have it every minute.

I tried :

  • different cables
  • different devices (Switch, PS4 and laptop).
  • all the inputs
  • to reinitialize the TV several times.
  • to enable/disable the CEC.

Do you know what could possibly cause this problem?

EDIT : I just bought a HDMI 2.1 and played for one hour and it seems working. If ever I have the problem again I'll edit one more time this post.

Same problem with an old Samsung. But it's when turning on though. Started off just very quick flick, to a loud noise to go with it, to going through it a few times before it connects. Tried everything too, cables, device. Being a old tv, pretty sure something wrong with the connection.

Hi how long is the cable have issue with other TV using 10m cable. Shorter is better.

I was having a similar issue with my set up. I run all my HDMI inputs through a HDMI switch. As soon I introduced something with HDMI 2.0 it started cutting out. So I went on Amazon and got a new 2.0 compatible HDMI switch and the drop outs completely stopped. It might be worth trying to put an HDMI 2.0 switch in line and see if that helps.

Edit: If you are interested here is the one I bought

I had the issue with my element TV and shield. It ended up being the home cable end being loosening the input connection. New cable fixed it
