Go to your keyboard settings, choose Gboard settings, then Language, choose all the languages you want. Then make sure Gboard is chosen as your current keyboard. When you are using the keyboard, the language will appear on the right hand side of the keyboard. navigate over there and click on it to change languages. This is on my Shield TV. If on another android TV your settings make be a little different but you should be able to choose languages and then the languages should appear on the keyboard for you to cycle through.
Thanks for that, I was looking at the gboard app for settings rather than system settings.
My first problem is that I need Greek, which is not on the list. So I tried Hebrew to see how that works. I can't see how the switch works. This is with an onscreen keyboard via my remote.
So finally I thought I try with an Android TV app. Yea no problems, I can type in my phone ... but the characters don't seem to transfer to the search bar, and I get vertical lines|||||
This is on a one month old 4K Sony TV with Android TV built in.
In addition to the above, you can also use the Android TV remote app (or Shield TV remote app if you have one) and use the keyboard on your phone with whatever languages you want added to your phone's keyboard.
