I am from the UK and we have the provider Virgin media here who used to rent out TiVo boxes and i was wondering if it is possible to flash AndroidTV or some other sort of OS maybe even Ubuntu to it?
It is an SMT-C7100 model made by Samsung.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Tivo boxes never had the capability to run unsigned OS's (this is why Stallman was up in arms over "Tivoization"), and there has never been a dev community particularly interested in finding exploits or workarounds to make it happen. Most Tivo hacks center around running background applications on the OS layer already in place, rather than replacing it with something new.
And truth be told, you'd be better off with something more modern anyway. The MiBox S has way better capabilities than those old Tivo units, and even that is looking dated these days.
