Looks like a dongle of some sort? Does it emulate a gamepad or what?
Ok guys I have an update for ya. It does work! Just plug the device into the tv and hold the button down until you get the green light, plug it into your pro controller and voila. I hope it helps anyone else who has been wanting to break out their pro controller.
Hmm
I actually own one and when I get home tonight I will dig it up and try I was just wondering beforehand but if nobody knows I will update this if I get it working.
So I am wanting to use my switch leo controller using Steam Link or just to see if it responds on my TV at all. As far as I know nobody has got a pro controller to work yet on TV even for moving around the menu.
So ordinarily this would be used on a console and allow any controller options, but I have a feeling this will do the same with the tv. I believe the difference with pro controller and Xbox controller is the input format so changing it from Direct input(pro controller) to xinput (Xbox controller) it may recognize it. I will update again tonight when I try it out.
How was the Pro Controller's button translation when in XInput mode?
I previously tried a similar controller using that dongle with my Shield and my OnePlus phone. For some reason XInput mode inverted the lettered buttons (pressing A would really do B, B->A, X->Y and Y->X) when in use. That made using the controller a bit difficult; my muscle memory with that controller pressumed the Switch/Nintendo button style, not the XBox button style (what the stock Shield Controller and most Android-specific gamepads are based on).
