My KDL-55W800C from 2015 doesn't have anything posted on its page. I don't think it will get an update. I miss the days of having a dumb TV.

XBR49X830C in the USA here... nothing.
It boggles my mind that it's still running on an over seven (!) year old kernel that is long, loooong EOL.
Why on earth is nobody pushing Mediatek to update the thing, there should be a joint interest by just about anyone who sold Android TVs.
Yeah it depends on the year and model the newer models have faster processors so that helps as well.
I have already given up on my Philips. Nice to see old TVs being supported.

Why does my bravia with android 9.0 look exactly the same? So they didn’t change anything from android 8.0 to android 9.0
Don’t really like the update. Previous version was laid out better. It was possible to change inputs using the input row as a graphical option. Boring background. icons are smaller. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

8? Christ, that's why don't buy TV because of Software, that's ancient. Better rely into a good supported box like the Shield and get a cheaper and dumber TV.
Not only is the new UX better, the TV feels much less laggy than it was. Way to finally come through Sony!
