Pen drive format - help needed

by Akour76

Hi All,

I have a lot of videos(family) that are 4gb plus in size. I wanted to see them on my android tv so bought a SanDisk pen drive. The thing is when in the fat32 format both the tv and phone can acess the pendrive but I can't transfer files greater than 4gb. Fat32 also works with my ubuntu machine.

I tried exfat, my phone and computer can access it but the Android tv gives a read error.

Is there a format that will work with Android phone (android 20), android tv (android 9) , ubuntu and windows? What about the three excluding windows?

Any help is much appreciated. PS: it is a Motorola Android tv.

If you have any of the computers on the same network, a good solution would be to share a folder on any of them and stream the videos instead. I use this setup, with Kodi on my AndroidTV and streaming from my shared network folders via SMB. I guess any video player (e.g. MX Player) and a file explorer that handles SMB (e.g. Solid Explorer) will suffice if you don't want to use Kodi.
