Turn off HDMI audio in mi box 3

I connected my stereo speakers to my mi box and it works, but the output is both to the speakers and the TV. How can I turn off the TV sound, so I will only hear through my speakers?

I saw here that someone said "check that you're not doing HDMI audio out or digital out in the settings", but I cant find those settings...

The SPDIF option in Mi Box 3 was removed when the Android 8 firmware arrived, but it's back on Android 9, rumor has it Xioami is already working on that firmware.

Since Android 9 is already available on the Mi Box S, the option is available but the audio is still routed to both the HDMI output and the SPDIF output when you select the latter, it should be routed only to the SPDIF port but I'm not sure why Google implemented it that way. On the Ematic Jetstream is the same.
